1. Consumption and ordering
Consuming or ordering small amounts of tobacco-containing snus for personal use is not prohibited or punishable in Germany and Austria! Only the sale of tobacco-containing snus and nicotine pouches is illegal within the EU, with the exception of Sweden.
2. Why can't you buy snus in the store?
You won't find a tobacconist in Germany or Austria that sells original snus from Sweden, as German and Austrian companies are not allowed to sell snus with tobacco. However, our online shop is allowed to sell tobacco-free snus and nicotine pouches in Germany and Austria, and up to 50% cheaper than in tobacconists and gas stations!

Why is the sale of snus banned in Germany?
The sale of tobacco-containing snus in Germany and other EU countries (except Sweden) is prohibited due to specific health concerns. This regulation dates back to an EU directive from 1992 that prohibits the sale of oral tobacco in the EU in order to protect the health of citizens. Despite this regulation, the consumption of snus is not illegal.
The difference between snus and nicotine pouches
Nicotine pouches, snooze, snu, snuz and similar terms are essentially synonyms for the original Swedish snus and are products for the smoke-free consumption of nicotine. In modern terms, nicotine pouches usually refer to the tobacco-free version. In our shop we only offer tobacco-free snus and nicotine pouches. How can you order snus legally?
You can order tobacco-free snus legally through online shops such as snusbox.de. Sales to private individuals over the age of 18 are legal. However, please note that snus with tobacco in the EU is usually only available through online shops outside the EU and can lead to complications with customs. In our web shop we only offer tobacco-free snus variants.
